Das 1848 eingeweihte staatliche Gymnasium „In der Wüste“ ist die drittälteste Schule der Stadt Osnabrück. Nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs hatte die Schule ihren Sitz am Heger-Tor-Wall. Sie erhielt nach 1956 die Bezeichnung „Gymnasium für Mädchen, Neusprachliches Gymnasium und Frauenoberschule“. Anfang der 1970er Jahre zog das „Gymnasium für Mädchen, Neusprachliches Gymnasium und Frauenoberschule“ von seinem Standort „am Wall“ in einen Neubau und befindet sich seitdem „in der Wüste“, einem Osnabrücker Stadtteil (zitiert aus https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnasium_%E2%80%9EIn_der_W%C3%BCste%E2%80%9C). Nach einem Umbau wird jetzt das Gebäude am Wall als "Juridicum" von der Universität genutzt.
Inaugurated in 1848, the State High School "In the Desert" is the third oldest school in the city of Osnabrück. After the end of the Second World War, the school had its seat on Heger Tor Wall.
