Der Römerberg ist der Rathausplatz von Frankfurt am Main und seit dem Hochmittelalter das Zentrum der Altstadt. Der Name rührt von dem Haus Zum Römer her, seit dem 15. Jahrhundert das Frankfurter Rathaus. Der Platz ist seitdem Ort zahlreicher Veranstaltungen, beispielsweise zu den Kaiserkrönungen, zu den Frankfurter Messen und zum Frankfurter Weihnachtsmarkt. Der östliche Teil des Römerbergs heißt auch Samstagsberg. Spätestens seit der Rekonstruktion der historischen Gebäudezeile an der Ostseite des Platzes zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre ist der Römerberg ein beliebtes Touristenziel (zitiert aus https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%B6merberg_(Frankfurt_am_Main)).
The Römerberg is the town hall square of Frankfurt am Main and since the High Middle Ages the center of the old town. The name comes from the house Zum Römer ago, since the 15th century, the Frankfurt City Hall.
