The road passing the Musée du Louvre forms one of the major axes of the city. Created on instruction of Napoleon, its name commemorates the victory in the Battle of Rivoli. Today it is a very popular tourist road, leading to many attractions such as the Hotel de Ville and Palais Royal, and is lined with noble stores and tourist shops.
