This is the old Miramar (loosely "sea view") bar and restaurant. It used to be a popular meeting spot for artists and local people in Florianópolis, a city build on an island in southern Brazil. It also hosted local rowing competitions. In 1974, it was demolished due to the land filling efforts. In recognition of the cultural value that the bar had provided to the city, the Miramar Memorial was built in 2001 and now stands where the Miramar once stood.
