The tomb of Jules Verne in the cemetery of the Madeleine in Amiens. The writer (1828-1905) had lived in the city, writing some of his most famous works, including "Around the World in 80 Days" and "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." The impressive tomb was designed by the sculptor Albert Roze. It shows Jules Verne lifting the tombstone and climbing out of the grave.

The "Cimetière de la Madeleine" was opened in 1817. The 18-hectare forest park is home to many important regional figures.
