@Lena Erst einmal Danke. Für dieses und den Markt mit alten Rathaus habe ich Drohnenfotos gemacht. Von den ursprünglichen Standorten kann man nicht mehr fotografieren.

Der Rote Turm ist Teil des Wahrzeichens der Stadt Halle (Saale). Dieses bildet er gemeinsam mit den vier Türmen der Marktkirche Unser Lieben Frauen. Halle wird wegen der markanten Silhouette dieser beiden Bauten auch oft als Stadt der Fünf Türme bezeichnet. Der Turm brannte am 16. April 1945 durch Artilleriebeschuss aus und verlor seinen charakteristischen Turmhelm. Bis auf die Turmumbauung wurde er wiederhergestellt.
Der Rote Turm wurde auf dem Marktplatz von Halle errichtet und steht damit fast genau im Zentrum der Stadt. Es handelt sich um einen im spätgotischen Baustil geschaffenen, freistehenden Uhr- und Glockenturm. Die rechteckige Grundfläche seines unteren quaderförmigen Baukörpers misst circa 10 mal 15 Meter. Der Turm ragt insgesamt knapp über 84 Meter (140 alte Hallische Ellen oder 268½ Fuß rheinl.) in die Höhe und ist damit das höchste Bauwerk des Mittelalters in Halle. Die Turmspitze des kupfernen Helmdaches ziert ein mit „246 Stacheln“ versehener vergoldeter Kugelknauf von 3,60 Meter Umfang, das entspricht 1,15 Metern Durchmesser.

The red tower is part of the landmark of the city of Halle (Saale). It forms this together with the four towers of the Marktkirche Unser Lieben Frauen. Because of the striking silhouette of these two buildings, Halle is often referred to as the city of five towers. The tower burned down on April 16, 1945 by artillery fire and lost its characteristic tower helmet. Except for the tower renovation, it was restored.
The Red Tower was built on the market square of Halle and is almost exactly in the center of the city. It is a free-standing clock and bell tower created in the late Gothic style. The rectangular base of its lower cuboid structure measures approximately 10 by 15 meters. The tower rises a total of just over 84 meters (140 old Halle cubits or 268½ feet of the Rhine), making it the tallest medieval structure in Halle. The spire of the copper helmet roof is adorned with a gold-plated ball knob with “246 spikes” with a circumference of 3.60 meters and a diameter of 1.15 meters.
