Als Kriegsnagelungen werden hunderte von Aktionen in Österreich-Ungarn und im Deutschen Kaiserreich bezeichnet, bei denen während des Ersten Weltkriegs gegen eine Spende ein Nagel in ein dafür aufgestelltes hölzernes Objekt eingeschlagen wurde.

In Freiburg wurde am Fuße des Schwabentores unter einem Schutzdach der „Eiserne Baum” aufgestellt. Am daneben stehenden Kiosk konnte man die Nägel erwerben.

Hundreds of actions in Austria-Hungary and the German Empire are called war nailing, in which a nail was hammered into a wooden object set up for this purpose during the First World War in exchange for a donation.

In Freiburg, the "Iron Tree" was set up under a protective roof at the foot of the Schwabentor. You could buy nails at the kiosk next to it.
