View on the San Francisco skyline and Alamo Square from Hayes Street, 1970 and today. Little has changed except for a few new skyscrapers. This also includes the iconic "Transamerica Pyramid", which was completed in 1972 - shortly after the old photo was taken. It was the tallest building in San Francisco until 2018 when it was surpassed by the new "Salesforce Tower".

The colorful row of houses on the left (on Steiner Street) are the so-called "Painted Laidies", a row of Victorian houses from the 19th century. They are one of the most photographed subjects in the city. Apparently the colors have partially changed since.

On the right rides an old bus of the 21 line, which still runs here today.
