The Jerusalem Chapel in Bruges was built in the 15th century by order of Anselm Adornes. The Adornes were a merchant family from Genoa who came to Bruges in the 13th century and had great influence there. The church was inspired by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and houses relics brought back by Adornes from his travels to Jerusalem.
