Hi Lena, in response to the comment on my picture, the photo is just for a class I am in and I have never used rephoto. It's not necessarily about alignment, but just about the differences in the photos. Just so you know.

Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.
Rituals are performed three times daily: at dawn, at noon and in the evenings. On Wednesdays there is a symbolic bathing of the relic with an herbal preparation made from scented water and fragrant flowers called Nanumura Mangallaya. This holy water is believed to contain healing powers and is distributed among those present.
The temple sustained damage from bombings by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in 1998 but was fully restored each time.

Sri Dalada Maligawa oder der Tempel der heiligen Zahnreliquie ist ein buddhistischer Tempel in der Stadt Kandy, Sri Lanka. Es befindet sich im königlichen Palastkomplex des ehemaligen Königreichs Kandy, in dem sich die Zahnreliquie des Buddha befindet. Seit der Antike hat die Reliquie eine wichtige Rolle in der lokalen Politik gespielt, weil geglaubt wird, dass derjenige, der die Reliquien hält, die Regierungsgewalt des Landes innehat. Kandy war die letzte Hauptstadt der srilankischen Könige und ist aufgrund des Tempels ein Weltkulturerbe.
Rituale werden dreimal täglich durchgeführt: im Morgengrauen, am Mittag und am Abend. Mittwochs gibt es ein symbolisches Bad der Reliquie mit einer Kräuterzubereitung aus duftendem Wasser und duftenden Blumen, genannt Nanumura Mangallaya. Es wird angenommen, dass dieses heilige Wasser heilende Kräfte enthält und unter den Anwesenden verteilt ist.
Der Tempel wurde 1998 durch Bombenanschläge der Befreiungstiger von Tamil Eelam beschädigt, wurde jedoch jedes Mal vollständig wiederhergestellt.
