The Place des Victoires at the crossroads of rue Vide-Gousset and rue d'Aboukir. The square is the center of a busy commercial district. The adjoining houses are officially called "Hôtel", but they are so-called "Hôtel particuliers", i.e. townhouses for the wealthy population.
At that time a fur coat shop ("fourrures") and a bar were located here, replaced today by upscale fashion and furniture boutiques.
