Ja das ist für heutige Verhältnisse wenig, aber auf alten Fotos mit Auswanderern scheinen die nie besonders viel Gepäck dabei zu haben. Mehr war wahrscheinlich auch gar nicht möglich, ich schätze auf den Dampfschiffen war es ziemlich eng (nicht wie auf einer gemütlichen Kreuzfahrt mit Stauraum für Gepäck).
Auf jeden Fall wurde im Archiv erwähnt dass es sich um Auswanderer handelt...
Yes, that's not much for today, but on old photos with emigrants they never seem to have much luggage. More was probably not possible, I guess on the steamboats it was pretty tight (not like on a leisurely cruise with storage for luggage).

On the left you can see the shipping company "Norddeutscher Lloyd". There is a long queue of people (probably emigrants) waiting in front of the passenger pick-up point to sign up for a steamboat ride.
