La fontaine et l’abreuvoir,appelé dans le village “la conque”, séparés l’un de l’autre d’environ deux mètres, encadrent aujourd’hui l’ escalier d’accès à l’ancienne mairie construit en 1936. L’abreuvoir monolithique, a la forme d’une baignoire, à rebords en tore avec trois gorges de débordements, inutiles maintenant puisque la déverse se fait par un tuyau au niveau inférieur. Cette déverse a servi rapidement à réactiver la “font vieille” dont le débit se tarissait. On pense aussi qu’elle a alimenté un temps la fontaine de la rue du Frêne.
