The Piazza dei Signori is a square in the historic city center of Verona. Since the middle ages it is the political and administrative center of the city. In the middle of the square stands a statue of Dante (1265 – 1321), the Italian poet who lived in exile in Verona. Behind is the Loggia del Consiglio, which housed the City Council.
