REALIZZAZIONE: 1783 - 1792
Il grande scultore veneto realizzò la tomba per Carlo Rezzonico, strutturandola su tre livelli: al primo sono poste le allegorie, due leoni che proteggono l’accesso al sepolcro, con ai lati il Genio della Morte e la Religione. Al secondo il sarcofago. Al terzo la statua del Pontefice inginocchiato in preghiera e con la tiara poggiata in terra in segno d’umiltà.

The great Venetian sculptor created the tomb for Carlo Rezzonico, structuring it on three levels: on the first are the allegories, two lions protecting the access to the tomb, with the Genius of Death and Religion on the sides. On the second the sarcophagus. On the third, the statue of the Pontiff kneeling in prayer and with the tiara resting on the ground as a sign of humility.
