Place de la Résistance (ancienne place du Théâtre)
En face le Petit Théâtre ouvert en 1884, ainsi surnommé car il ne dispose que de 250 places, contre environ 1000 pour la grande scène de la Passerelle du Théâtre Louis Guilloux.
A sa droite, l'ancien Grand Café de L'Univers, actuellement une Agence.
On devine le Théâtre Louis Guilloux à gauche du Petit Théâtre sur la photo actuelle. Il sera construit et inauguré en octobre 1982 par Jack Lang, ministre de la culture.
L'actuel Hôtel des Postes (construit en 1909) qu'on entrevoit à droite sur la photo actuelle, a remplacé les 2 halles à la viande (détruite en 1875) et aux poissons, qu'on voit sur la photo ancienne.
Ces halles avaient elles-mêmes remplacé l'ancien Grand Séminaire (fin 17ème) et sa Chapelle.
Pour les curieux : la porte sculptée de ce Grand Séminaire disparu est l'actuelle porte d'entrée du bar de l'Ourme (1 rue Henri Becquerel).

Resistance Square (former Theater Square)
Opposite the Petit Théâtre opened in 1884, so nicknamed because it only has 250 seats, compared to around 1000 for the main stage of the Passerelle du Théâtre Louis Guilloux.
To its right, the former Grand Café de L'Univers, now an agency.
We can guess the Louis Guilloux Theater to the left of the Petit Théâtre in the current photo. It will be built and inaugurated in October 1982 by Jack Lang, Minister of Culture.
The current Hôtel des Postes (built in 1909) that can be seen on the right in the current photo, has replaced the 2 meat halls (destroyed in 1875) and fish, which can be seen in the old photo.
These halls had themselves replaced the old Grand Séminaire (late 17th century) and its Chapel.
For the curious: the sculpted door of this disappeared Grand Séminaire is the current entrance to the Ourme bar (1 rue Henri Becquerel).
