In January 1971, Kuala Lumpur experienced a major flash flood disaster that was the result of heavy monsoon rains, swelling the Klang, Batu and Gombak rivers. 180.000 people were affected, 32 died.

The image shows the building that is now the Nationale Textile Museum and the Sultan Abdul Amad Building in the background. Today, this crossroad is one of the busiest in KL.
