The 1911 photograph shows glacier ice extending all the way down slope to the valley whereas Chaney Glacier is now confined to a small patch below the ridge in the 2005 photograph. Chaney is now about 87 acres insize. Note the small group of dark vegetation patches on the slope to the left of the glacier.
