Langeoog ist eine der ostfriesischen Inseln, gelegen zwischen Spiekeroog und Baltrum. Diese Inseln waren nicht wie die Nordfriesischen Inseln mit dem Festland verbunden sondern sind durch Aufschwemmungen von Sand und Pflanzen entstanden. Die ersten Siedler werden um 1200 erwähnt. Langeoog is one of the East Frisian Islands, located between Spiekeroog and Baltrum. These islands were not like the North Frisian Islands connected to the mainland but have arisen from flooding of sand and plants. The first settlers are mentioned around 1200.
