Seine banks seen from Pont Alexandre III, at the time of the great World Exposition of 1900. More than 76,000 exhibitors were represented on a 216-hectare exhibition area. Exhibit pavilions specially designed for this purpose were devoted to various nations, or they dealt with handicrafts, scientific areas and technical innovations.
To the front one can see the Pont des Invalides, in the front left was the Italian pavilion, in the front right the pavilion of the city of Paris. On the Chaillot hill in the background inthroned the Palais du Trocadero.
Les quais de Seine vus du pont Alexandre III, lors de la grande exposition universelle de 1900. Plus de 76 000 exposants étaient représentés sur un espace d'exposition de 216 hectares. Les pavillons d’exposition spécialement conçus à cet effet étaient consacrés à diverses nations ou traitaient d’artisanat, de domaines scientifiques et d’innovations techniques.
À l'avant, on peut voir le pont des Invalides, à l'avant à gauche le pavillon italien, à l'avant à droite le pavillon de la ville de Paris. À l'arrière-plan, sur la colline de Chaillot, trône le Palais du Trocadéro.
