The baptistry St-Jean in Poitiers is one of the oldest Christian buildings. It dates back to the middle of the 4th century and was rebuilt into a baptistery in the 7th century during the Merovingian period. In the middle of the main room is the oldest baptismal font in France.
Le baptistère St-Jean à Poitiers est l'un des plus anciens édifices chrétiens. Il remonte au milieu du 4ème siècle et a été transformé en baptistère au 7ème siècle pendant la période mérovingienne. Au milieu de la pièce principale se trouvent les plus anciens fonts baptismaux de France.
